My heart goes to Lubna Ahmed al-Hussein, a Sudanese journalist currently on trial for wearing pants/trousers. She faces 40 lashes if convicted under Article 152 of Sudan’s criminal law, which forbids “indecent clothing in public”.
Ten other women have already been whipped for similar offences under Islamic law.
In an incredible show of courage, Lubna waived her United Nations immunity to allow the trial to go on. Since the trial started, she has send the world press hundred of invitations to her trial.
Lubna is inviting us to walk with her on this horrible trip to her flogging. She is putting the law on trial.
